Lori Lippitz can provide audial representation. Also, there are clips on their web-site. As I offered, yesterday; if you so wish, I am willing to loan you one or more of my Maxwell Street CD's. They are very dear to us, however, so please don't lose them.
Mind you, I am not Jewish. Rather, I'm an Irish-German Catholic kid. However; what Maxwell Street provides knows no ethnic or religious boundaries or borders. Their music is alive and infectious and performed by an incredibly talented and gifted group of ten or so members. If a song is sung in Yiddish; well, Lori or another person will take the time to explain what is about to happen.
If it is an English-language song; simply, no explanations are required. They have a medley of classical and popular numbers, but all scrambled together: I think their violinist Alex Kaufmann did the arranging. By the end of it, a person can't help but smile; even, to laugh and wonder how they can even do such magic.
I believe in good entertainment and I have been a life-long lover of good music; of many varieties. As you probably drew from yesterday's conversation, I am very deeply impressed by both the entertainment and music expertise of Maxwell Street. I consider them as one of my most memorable musical experiences. In any capacity you request, I am available to help you in this.
Sincerely,
- Stan T.
